4.2.2 Locate and Name the Continents and Oceans of the World on the World Map.
Continents:
- Africa: Located primarily in the eastern hemisphere, with the equator passing through its center. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north.
- Antarctica: Situated in the southern hemisphere, surrounding the South Pole. It is mostly covered in ice and snow.
- Asia: The largest continent, located in the eastern and northern hemispheres. It is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south.
- Europe: Positioned in the eastern hemisphere, bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south.
- North America: Located in the western hemisphere, bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
